I never thought I could leave my every day life behind, cross all the boundaries, break the rules and go around the planet. But why not? I just returned from 4 weeks journey around US. It was short but it gave me an inspiration to do the most amazing thing on earth. When our journey was about to finish we were sitting in one of Hollywood bars watching passing by people I promised myself I will travel around the world. Slowly. Of course in US we could afford restaurants and expensive sightseeing for 4 weeks, however I am aware of tight budget and tough conditions while continuously travelling for about a half year. I am considering to do some work in different countries in exchange of accomodation and maybe food. I am very keen on South and North America (Especially Brazil,Mexico, Argentina) , Carribean islands, Hawaii, Australia, Malaysia,Indonesia, Thailand, India.

I can be flexible. Nothing yet decided. No plan is written down. I am open for changes and suggestions. I am looking for responsible, easy-going, flexible and fun travel mates. Ideally we could form a mixed gender group of 4-5 people. I am a little bit concerned about safety issues, therefore I think a group of 5-6 people would be safe enough to travel even in ''dodgy'' places. I am giving it 6 months for preparations (enough time to get used to the idea, detach from work etc). I believe a good organising would help to save both time and money. Please get back to me everyone who is passionate about travelling around the world and willing to make this happen!

Update: I found 2 people who are keen to travel with me. We share the same ideas and plans. I am looking for one or two more persons and then we are good to go!

Ian [EagerExistence] I've been backpacking for 6 months now. You realize that with a group of 5-6 people, it will be quite difficult to find cheap accommodation?

Mackinnon's Habitat I must agree, managing 6 others on a three week tour of Laos and Cambodia was hard work. We all said that 3 or 4 max next time. I am keen though....be good to talk more about this.

In Hi Guys. I have another 2 people wanting to travel with me. I think in terms of accomodation it's always easier if you have an even number. So we have 3 travellers and the fourth one is very welcome to join us.

In Hello Oropel. Nice to hear from you.I've noticed your profile earlier and I liked it. We didn't get far with the panning yet. At the moment we are looking at the route options and prices. Yesterday I have been testing the ONEWORLD planning tool and these are the countries I added to the route: London -Rio de Janeiro-Santiago-Lima-Cancun-Miami-Honolulu-Sydney-Singapore-Bangkok-London. This just a beginning and we may add or remove countries from a route. The price for this route example came up to £3300 a person. Quite pricey- I think we can get cheaper than that if we shop around. We are willign to be flexible with the dates as long as we find someone seriuos to travel with. Another possiblity is you joining us in September. Let's say if we start our trip in Brazil and stay there for 4 weeks you can join us in Santagio in September. We can always work something out. I live in London.

Oropel Lovely to hear from you too. The countries that you added absolutely match with where I want to go (although my Geography isn't that great so I had to google the cities to find out which countries that they were lol!) It's sooo exciting!!! The only other two countries that I really really wanted to visit were India and China. Were they ones that you were interested in too? I am serious, the only thing is I would not want to miss Brazil as it is one of the places that I want to visit. Is it possible to get a boat along the Amazon? That's something I've always wanted to do.
