This OVERLAND CAMPING trip starts just a couple hours south of the Arctic Circle in Fairbanks, Alaska then ends 35 days and 5689 miles (9155 km) later in world famous city by the bay, San Francisco (California).

This trip has something for everyone - majestic wilderness, hot springs of northern Canada, some of the world's most spectacular National Parks, a sampling of North America's most loved cities, the beautiful deserts of Eastern Oregon, California, & Utah, the tallest mountains in the States (& Canada), the one and only California Coast, 2 World Heritage Sites and oh yeah, 3 amazing music festivals.

thanks for your interest in my latest Road Trip extravaganza ... Alaska to Cali ... so there is a lot of info below but i want to try to answer any questions you might have ..

Obviously there is no way to tell the exact price of gas but below are the numbers that i am estimating ..

the good news is that my van, aka "cooziecrusier" drove great the whole way up from cali when i just did the trip a couple months ago .. the bad news, is though i thought is was a gas hog it was worst than i had guessed, only getting about a 6-9 mpg .. ooch - so at any rate, the gas alone for this trip will cost of in range of $3500-4000.

The more travelers the less the cost per person for petrol .....
so the cost for gas/petrol is as follows (all prices are in USDollar) :

5 people = 770. per person
4 people = 975. per person
3 people = 1200. per person

the cost for dinner/camping is as follows (we split the cost for nat'l parks in Canada - I have a yearly pass in the states)

$12. per day ($6 dinner/$6 camping) X 28 days camping
(in Vancouver/Seattle/Portland/Vegas we DO NOT camp .. that totals 8 nights budget for hostel/couch surfing/motel, etc)
dinner/camping = 336. per person
other lodging = 160. per person
estimated total = 496. per person

Everyday/spending money varies widely so you should figure that for yourself .. i personally figure/budget about 20. per day for the states because i really don't buy of a lot of stuff because i am fairly nomadic (ok cheap - lol) but you should probably also budget $100-200 (total) for tixs for the music festival if you are interested.

$1266. TOTAL w/o airfare

$36. per day per person
(to be driven around/food/camping in
