I am a senior hiker (age 65) with two previous short hikes on the AT. I plan to average 12+ miles per day but will begin with 8-10 to acclimatize. I expect to be at the Springer MT. lodge the evening of 14 April and hope to meet any partners there to jump off the next a.m. I am a lightweight backpacking enthusiast who will have about a 30 pound pack weight. I have found that the trail experience is amplified by hiking with partners of similar skill levels and is certainly safer. My departure dates are flexible up to 1 May. P lease reply to this post if you are serious about a hike and would like company.
