Located in the center of Transylvania, Trascau Nature Park show a great variety of limestone landscape pattern and very rich fauna and flora, including large predators.
The area takes the shape of an open air museum. Here is possible to see a multitude of examples of popular traditions and customs: water mills, oxen-pulled carts and houses that are hundreds of years old, all the above in perfect harmony with the landscape.
Romania is the richest country in Europe regarding biodiversity. It is unique because it hosts five biogeographical regions: Continental, Stepic, Alpine, Pontic and Panonnic, that determine a high level of biodiversity: a lot of alpine species combined with Meditheranean species.
Here lives the largest bear population in Europe (Excepting Russia), according WWF. According to the last studies, the bear population in Romania is estimated at 5,600 individuals (40% from Europe's population).
The wolf population is around 2,900 individuals, representing 31% from Europe's wolf population. There is also detected a large population of Lynx.

We will walk through Trascau Nature Park for 5 days. Our guides, specialised in protected species, herbs, mushrooms and geology will show you nice landscapes, protected species and the traditional way of life.
For 5 days we will stay at a local farm and we will sleep at the local guestroom house. Farm have animals that you can see, feed or even take care.
In the vegetable garden you can be actively involved in looking after and harvesting the vegetables. We should see the traditional way of working the field, like grass mowing and gathering.
The meals are prepared from fresh local products (vegetables, milk, butter, cheese, eggs, jam). You should assist our host in the preparation of traditional recipes and you should share your own recipes, too.
In our trail you should collect forest fruits, mushrooms and herbs, assisted by our specialized guide.
On our returning way to Cluj we’ll cross the famous Aries Valley, developed on 60 km long.
