Backpack Adventures - Group Travel

Hi all my name is Kylie, I am a full time social worker currently working for the Red Cross but am packing it all up to leave for a round the world adventure starting July 31 :)

From LA I plan to travel to Mexico, Central America, South America (round trip west to east), the Carribean Islands and then onto the UK, Europe and hopefully beyond! The aim of this profile is to enlist some recruits or meet like minded others prior to or during the adventure who may have similar ideas and interests.

The highlight for me will be spending up to 3-6moths in Guatemala (Xela & Anitgua) learning Spanish and volunteering in a couple of areas. I am supposed to fly into LA and head off down to Mexico after seeing LA's attractions, however I have been pretty distracted by a few other parts of the lower regions of USA and wouldn't mind seeing more of the countries other states, cities and wonders.

Basically I am looking for like minded individuals that like adventure, like having fun, but more importantly like venturing off the beaten track to immerse themselves in other (and more traditional) cultures.
