Update April 7, 2013: My hostel for the first couple nights in Amsterdam is booked. I'll be staying at the Flying Pig Downtown. Backpack is ordered, should arrive in the mail in a couple days. Still looking for anyone who wants to meet up while we're over there. I adjusted my itinerary a little in the previous update. Here's my really rough breakdown of cities I only made this so I have an idea of how much I can do in the amount of time I have. I'm completely open to changing it as we go.

South France like Nice

Florence/La Spezia/Pisa
Rome
Then I'd fly back to Amsterdam for a day before I fly home.

Update Feb. 7 2013: Finally booked my flight, I'll be flying into Amsterdam, arriving on the 7th. It looks like my route will be Amsterdam, Belgium, Northern France, Spain, Southern France, Italy, then flying back to Amsterdam from Rome. Don't want to feel too rushed. But all of these plans are subject to change when I'm out on the road. I'll be open to go/do anything if I meet up with anyone who wants to try a different route.

Update Dec. 5th 2012: I've been getting an itinerary together and my trip looks like it's going to be closer to 6 weeks. I'm almost to the point of buying a plane ticket, but I'm waiting a bit as I've heard that prices are cheapest 3-4 months before departure. I am looking to backpack Europe after I graduate from college starting sometime in May 2013 and going for 4-6 weeks. I'm pretty flexible on all aspects of the trip. I just entered a date that would be around the time I would want to start and I just picked a few countries that I wouldn't mind visiting. As far as budget goes, I just entered random amounts. I would like to do this on a smaller budget but I don't have a problem splurging a little on our trip. I am a 27 year old guy but I have no problem traveling with anyone younger/older. Just want to find some people to travel with so I don't have to do this entirely by myself!

Simple As long as a tour to the Guinness brewery is in the plan, count me in. I was considering going earlier but better backpack with others then solo.

RyanNirg It definitely would have been in the plan, but I had to cut out England and Ireland so I'd have more time to spend in other places. I hope to get back one day and spend a month or so just in England, Ireland, and Scotland.

RyanNirg Hey Max, right now I'm planning on starting in Ireland and doing a loop to England, Amsterdam, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. It's a rough outline and I'm pretty much open to go wherever once I'm over there.
