Terri717 Hi Katie, this sounds like an amazing trip, how was it? I'm planning a similar trip next May/June, but only 2 weeks and only Barcelona, Amalfi and Amsterdam. Do you have any recommendations as to how to travel within Europe or what Hostels you stayed at and what they were like? Thank you!

Irfan Hi Katie, I'm also Canadian and I'm also going arriving in Barcelona on May 10th but I'll be leaving for Rome on the 12th (overnight ferry), but I do have pretty much the same itinerary as you except after the Amalfi Coast I'll be going to Venice (actually was going to Florence but then discovered the Amalfi Coast so I gotta skip Florence to do it), I'm not sure how set you are on your dates but let me know. Katie Montague Hey, I've actually already booked my hostels so my dates are set as they are. If any of these are the same as yours that'd be cool: Barcelona may12-18 sorrento may 18-25 Rome may 25-31 Florence may31- June 4 Venice June 4-10 Amsterdam June 10-16.

Irfan We could do Barcelona and Amalfi coast together if you like. Have you booked your hostel for Sorrento? If not, check out Salerno, I heard a lot of good things about using that city over Sorrento. Also there are these 1 day boat cruises that leave from Sorrento or Amalfi that go to Capri and check out the grottos and you can do snorkling as well. I'm thinking about dong that as well! And plus a day and a half on Ischia which I heard is amazing

Katie Montague Yeah- it would be cool to know someone especially at the start. I'm already booked in hostels for Barcelona and Sorrento- It seems that Sorrento is the easiest place to travel from to other areas. Yeah! I was thinking Capri would be cool- never heard of Ischia- what is there? Also- might be worth it to check out Pompeii/ Vesuvius?? Not sure yet.

Irfan You have to go to Ischia if you are there, apparently it is more beautiful than Capri even tho Capri is more well known. If you're thinking of seeing Pompeii, I've heard Herculum is in way better condition. I would like to stay in Amalfi or Positano, but as they are a bit expensive, I found a nice hostel right outside of Amalfi. Cait Hey Katie! I am going to be in Europe the same time as you, arriving in London on May 9th and will be there until the end of June. I have no set plans, I was just planning on winging it mostly once I got there since I'm not sure how I will feel about a place until I get there. I was planning on visiting all of the places you are goign to be and would love to have a travel partner if you are interested. Let me know!

jules Hey Katie, I'm a 25 year old female from NYC (i actually work for a canadian bank lol) and i am planning a solo trip to Italy at the end of May. I am going with a young tour group for 8 days (top deck tours) starting May 25th but wanted to arrive in Florence a few days prior, and to spend a few days in Rome around June 2nd and 3rd by myself. Are you planning on being in Florence or Rome during your trip?

Katie Montague Yes! I'm going to be in Rome from May 25th to 30th. Then I'm going to be in Florence from the 31st of May to the 4th of June. It seems that we're going in opposite directions..
