The plan? To explore Central America on a budget... Starting in Guatemala and heading to major sights, including from Tikal across into Mexico to see Palenque. Travelling down through Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua to Costa Rica. The budget is small, but so far reasonable (I am currently at language school in Guatemala). Travelling in pairs/groups seems to be cheaper as we can share rooms in guesthouses where there are no hostels. It also takes the stress out of travelling the chicken buses! Transport will predominantly be buses, itenary is flexible, as are dates, and there's the possibility of stopping places to do some voluntary work along the way if we find something we want to do.
