China to Turkey overland - Group Travel

I'm leaving my teaching job in Taiwan in September to meet a family member in Scandinavia. I'll be starting in eastern China, likely Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou or Beijing, and traveling overland using train, bus and whatever else through Kazakhstan (Urumqi-Almaty bus), Azerbaijan (Aqtau-Baku 'ferry'), Georgia and Turkey, into Europe. I travel lightly and Couchsurf, WWOOF, volunteer, free camp, overnight bus/train or whatever works out when possible; I prefer my money to go towards cultural immersion and local food than government hotels. I'm a US citizen and am looking at three Visas: China ($140), Kazakhstan ($40) and Azerbaijan ($140), and am planning on purchasing the latter two in Urumqi and Aktau, respectively. The rest of the cost will be food, transportation and lodging as needed. I'm looking for a companion on the China-Turkey stretch of the trip! 26 years old, don't drink or smoke, love food and music, somewhat traveled. Contact me if you're interested in part or the whole.
