In true Supertramp style, I'm going to ride up through Vietnam and down through Laos and maybe Cambodia. I'm planning this for late-2011, which gives plenty of time to get fit. I don't plan on flying through a lightening speed. More just coasting along to take in the local culture.

I've got two other interested parties, who I'll try to cajole into coming on here. We're all guys in our early and mid 30s and just love to get out and about to meet people. There seems like a lot to organise, but we're going to go with the road and let her take us where she wants. So all you need is a solid mountain bike with front suspension and panniers to hold all of your gear. We can help if you need to purchase.

Darrenstravels I just got back from a cycle tour from Saigon to Hanoi. It was awesome but you do need to train especially hills. There is a lot of hills to climb! omba im up for it, need to start riding my bike again though. As long as the trip is cheap, i should be fine. Im a college student so il be a bit younger than the rest. Can you give us more details on the trip?

Jebbert I thought I left a message but I guess I didn't. This is definitely really cool. I have wanted to ride a moped through Vietnam for some time now. But Bicycling is much cooler. I will be 20 at the time of this trip, but am fit and have wanted to do something like this for a long time. Is this still something that will be happening? and how many other confirmed people are there for this trip?

Alexander Supertramp I forgot to mention that even though we'll take it easy, you need to be fit to ride these distances. And you definitely need to train on a bike beforehand to get used to the saddle.
