Backpack from Darwin down the East coast to Melbourne from October '10. Spend Xmas in Sydney and then fly to Asia. Travel arourn Asia for 7 to 8 months: Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, Burma, and if time allows: Indonesia, Philiphines, India & China. Dates and places are open as I would like to plan as I go for most of the trip.

Walls Hey! I will spend December and January around Indonesia (surfing Bali and surrounding spots). If you start your Asian route through Indonesia, maybe we can meet and exchange experiences of our trips.

backpackingoz I have my ticket!! I´ll be starting my trip from Perth instead of Darwin (and travelling all the way around Australia to finish up in Sydney around Xmas time. I´ll be heading to Asia in January to do some travelling, meditation and voluntary work with children. If someone wants to join me I´d love to have some company specially at the beggining of the adventure.

comehikewithmike "...then Asia no time limit" - you should definitely consider this trip http://globetrooper.com/the-great-circular-indian-railway-challenge-2011. Lots of people (maybe 15 to 25) are planning to go. Should be freakin' amazing.
