Day 1: Arrived in Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)
When you arrived in Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Open Trail will be there holding your group name or leader name. He will drop you at your hotel. After checking in, you can take rest or visit Open Trail’s office in Thamel or you can for shop in Thamel. In evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Open Trail Treks where you will be served with authentic Nepalese cuisine. This is a great introduction to Nepalese food culture.

Day 2: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
We will begin our second day with the breakfast before starting a guided tour to some of the historical and religious sites of Kathmandu. Which are listed as World Heritage Sites. We will visit Kathmandu Darbar Square, Buddhist Stupa (Buddha Nath), Hindus secret temple Pashupati Nath. We will end our tour by visiting the Monkey temple-Swayambhunath. In the middle of the tour, we will take you to the very special local restaurant for lunch.
After we finish the tour we will meet our trekking guide and leader for discussion and preparation for our following days trekking.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Lukla(2800m/9186ft) and Trek to Phakding(2600m/8530ft)
Today we start our day with an early morning 45-minute flight to the busy village, Lukla which sits at an altitude of 2,800 meters. The left-hand side of the plane will offer you an amazing scenery of the Himalayas. Once we arrive at Lukla a quick traditional breakfast will be set up for an easy three-hour hike, crossing the mountain ranges via high suspension bridges (not for faint-hearten). The track will take us to the first guesthouse at a little village called Phakding, where a fire is set up to make your leg warms which will help you for tomorrow’s strenuous trek.

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazar(3440m/11,286ft)
Today we will start our day with a gasping climb over 600 meters to Namche Bazar. This child tests the fittest of trekkers. The hike will take you over the DudhKosi River and then we follow the east side of the mountain ranges. Although this hike is testing your fitness, the track will give you reward of magnificent views of mountain ranges as the track takes you through high mountain ranges.During this climb to Namche, you will notice the altitude and once reaching the village, tomorrow’s rest day will feel well deserved.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazar
Namche is the hub of the Khumbu region and many locals gather there in the market for trade. This market gives you a great opportunity to explore the center and pick up any last supplies you may need for the rest of trek. There is a famous German Bakery here, where you can indulge in freshly brewed coffee and cake. Today is also a good opportunity to walk up to the Everest View Hotel, which will not only boost your first views of Mt. Everest but will also assist your body in adjusting to the high altitude.

Day 6: Namche Bazar to Tengbuche(3,870m/12,696ft)
Once exiting Namche the track winds along a high mountain range. The first part of today is flat allowing you to take in the remote beauty of the Khumbu region. While walking you will be able to spot Mount Everest nestled into the mountain ranges of Amadabalam, Lohse, and LotseSar. The track will then descend to cross a suspension bridge over the DudhKoshi River allowing you to catch your breath. It is here we will have lunch before ascending for a hard 2 hours trek to a teahouse in Tengboche.
Tengboche holds the largest monastery within this region and if you’re lucky enough to be here in the months of October and November, you will get the opportunity to witness the Mani Rimdu festival where there will be masked dancers and Tibetan Opera, celebrating the recreation of Buddhist events.

Day 7: Tengbuche to Dingbuche(4,350/14,271ft)
Today will begin descending into Dibuche, passing through the famous Rodrodranden Forest. We will then cross over the Imza Khola and begin a steady climb into Pangbuche. It is here you will really begin to feel the strain of being in high altitude and the pace will be slow. Once we reach Dingbuche we will have gained over 450 meters of altitude. Here is the highest point you will notice locals growing vegetables.

Day 8: Acclimatization day in Dingbuche
Due to the amount of altitude gained from the previous day, we will have an acclimatization/rest day in Dingbuche. It gives you the chance to put your feet up and enjoy a rest from yesterday’s climb or alternatively test your fitness again and take a two-hour hike to help with the altitude and capture the pure beauty of the Himalayas. This hike offers amazing views of Makalu, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar and Island Peak. If you are after a challenge you can extend your acclimatization hike to reach heights of 5,330 meters – the same height as Everest Base Camp!

Day 9: Dingbuche to Labuche
Today will begin with an easy climb through the Yak Kharka, which translates to grassland for yaks. Within a few hours, we will reach a small village of Thukla. Although we have only been trekking for a short time it is a good chance to have lunch and prepare for a challenging 1 ½ hour ascent, shortly followed by heavy trekking through the Khumbu Glaciers before reaching Lobuche. It is during this part of the trek we will pass through a memorial commemorating, the missing or deceased climbers and Sherpas of Mount Everest.

Day 10: Labuche(4,930m/16,175ft) to Gorakshep(5,140m/16,864ft) and EBC(5,364m/17,598ft)
Today will start early with a steady up and down trek for 3 hours until we reach Gorakshep. From here we will have a quick lunch before leaving our bags and porters behind to go on a 5hour round trip toEverest Base Camp. It is today that all your hard trekking will be made worth it as you gaze upon the pure beauty and realization of where you are.
Total Trekking Time: 7 hours

Day 11- Gorakshep to Pheruche(4,243m/13,920ft)
This morning is a great chance to grasp an early morning sunrise on the top of Kala Patter. This mountain is famous for showcasing the best views of Mount Everest. It will also provide excellent views of the Khumbu Glacier and Everest Base Camp. The round trip takes just under 3hours. Once we arrive back to Gorakshep we will have breakfast before heading back down the mountain.
Total Trekking Time: 6 hours

Day 12 –Pheruche to Tengbuche(3,870m/12,697ft)
We cross the Khumbukhola and treks steadily down following the beautiful valley, On the way we pass through the settlement of Somare and Pangbuche. We cross the river again and walk for half an hour through the forest of Rhododendron to Dibuche. We cross a small uphill to Tengbuche. We spend night at Tengbche.
Total Trekking Time: 4:30 hour

Day 13 – Tengbuche to Manjo(2,840m/9,318ft)
One hour steep downhill to the river and another uphill can take us to the settlement of Kyangjuma. The track till Namche is pretty easy. If we are lucky enough, we may see wildlife such as mountain goat, snow leopard and colorful pheasant. We descend down through the pine forest and cross the suspension bridge over the the Dudhkosi river. We cross the Dudhkosi river again for two times before we get the village of Manjo. Overnight at Manjo.
Total Trekking time: 5 hours

Day 14 – Manjo to Lukla(2,800m/9,186ft)
It is an easy day today. We walk through the valley of Dudhkosi. The trekking is mostly gentle up and downhill and crossing of several suspension bridge. While walk through village, we can observe the lifestyle of the inhabitant Sherpa people. After we get back to Lukla we can look around the town. We can celebrate our last day at Irish Pub. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu
Early morning we go to the Lukla Airport for our flight to Kathmandu. 45 minutes breathtaking flight with the view of the beautiful scenery of mountain will take us back to Kathmandu.We can spend rest of our day exploring the old town of Kathmandu. You can also do some souvenir shopping around Thamel. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner hosted by Open Trail Treks.

Day 16: – Final departure
Today is the last day of your adventure. We can have last breakfast together. After breakfast, if you have time from your flight you can do some shopping or you go for the sightseeing. A representative from Open Trail Treks will pick you from hotel and drop you at airport 3 hours before your flight.
