Name From Kathmandu to Lhasa

Beginning of May, we (René (19) and Rike (20) from Germany) want to go to Tibet on a (more or less) low budget trip, but the everywhere-provided tour doesn't sound good to us.
We could find a Travel Agency who offered us to just organize a guide (what is necessary 'cause of Chinese rules), 4WD, Visa and permits. The rest (program(!), accommodation, food, entrance fees, etc) we could organize ourselves (and keep as low as possible of course).
To make such a tour 'low budget' (let's be clear here: 20-50U$/day and person is necessary for Tibet!) we need to find 2+ more persons.
For our itinerary we tried to take two smaller Monasteries (for an idea of the 'real' mstry life) and only two of the more famous mstries. Also we tried to keep our time to Lhasa as small as possible (without rushing) to keep the rent&petrol for the 4WD low.
Our rough itinerary looks like this:
Day one: Kathmandu to Tingri
-Tonga-la&La Lung-la pass
Day two: Tingri to Shigatse
-Two smaller mstry (Chöde Monastry & Phuntsoling Mstry)
-One bigger mstry (Tashilhumpo)
Day three: Shigatse to Gyanste
-Kumbum-Chörten
Day four: Gyanse to Lhasa
-Evening walk through the city
Day five:
-(Jokhang)
-(Potala Palace)
-Lhasa program to be continued
Day six: Daytrip to Nam-tso (saltlake)

Maybe we could also stay one or two more days in Lhasa, maybe even with seperate program.
WE will leave then to Chengdo (China), you would have to organize your further travels yourself (but the agency would of course like to help you ($$), but you need a ticket before we leave Nepal).
Also we are VERY open to changes, ideas, etc! Again: Date is also not fixed!!!

If you want to know more don't hesitate to contact us: (+977) 980 698 7707 or rene[dot]vollmer at gmail.com (Please contact as soon as possible!)
We can meet in our small flat (in Kathmandu/Patan) to plan together!

FC
FC That is not quite correct! We found an agency who offered us to just charge us for guide, 4WD, permits and Visa. We would be able to organize the rest ourselves. Of course this is more expensive than the fixed departure trip - but if we can find 2+ more people we can actually get an effordable price. BTW: You don't need a guide/4WD/special permit once you reached the Lhasa district. Just the "normal" Tibet-permit. Don't let travel agencies rip you off (at least not completly)!
