Name Germany, Prague, Amsterdam, London Adventure!
Hi everyone! I have never been on this website before but found it via Stumbleupon and decided to post my trip ideas. My family has been traveling every year since my daughter was born (18 years) and we just booked our trip to Europe for May 2014! We went to Europe last May starting in Milan for one night, Interlaken Switzerland for one night, the Italian Dolomites for one night, Venice for two nights, Florence for one night, Rome for three nights, Nice France for one night, and back to Milan for one night before we flew out. We drove the ENTIRE thing! It was definitely a bit of a culture shock to drive on the Italian autostrada's (crazy drivers) but overall a good experience. My 18 year old daughter planned the whole trip, every minor detail, and it turned out fairly well. Only complaint is the one-nighters. We don't want to do that again, because many days we had 6-7 hour drives and it was just too much and gave us little time to do/see anything in those cities.
This year, we plan on doing something fairly similar, but altering some things.
We are flying into Berlin, staying for one or two nights (haven't decided yet), then driving to Prague, staying two nights, driving to Munich, staying three nights, driving to Frankfurt, staying one night, driving to Amsterdam, staying two nights, flying from Amsterdam to London and staying three nights, then flying back to Berlin for either one or two nights before we fly out (we will either do two nights at the beginning of our trip in Berlin, or two at the end. Just so we total three nights in Berlin).
I'm traveling with my husband, and two kids, one who is 18, and one who is 15.
I'd love to hear comments and suggestions on things to do and see in these cities.
We have these things planned to see in each city so far (just a very rough idea)
Astronomical Clock & Charles Bridge
Trip to Dachau and Neuschwanstein Castle
Ice river to watch surfers
Maybe Sachenhausen concentration camp? (haven't heard anything about it so I'm not sure whether it is worth it or not)
Van Gogh Museum
Red Light District (during the day)
Anne Frank House
Changing of the guards
British Museum or Natural History Museum
Maybe something Harry Potter related?
Maybe Borough Market
