We also want to drive on Route 66, and go to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Death Valley, Yellowstone... and more. We love adventure, so anything out-of-the-ordinary or just a pure adrenaline rush, we'll be up for, but only if it's not too pricey.
We're hoping to meet as many people as we can who are interested in travel. Whether you're currently travelling, soon-to-be travelling, cubicle travelling, planning to travel or a travel blogger/writer, we want to MEET ALL OF YOU.
Do you think we should come to where you are? Tell us now. Do you want to meet up for a coffee or a beer? Can you show us around your town or just your kitchen? Can you offer us a comfy couch to crash on or just a quick shower? Can you help us to understand what a normal day for you is all about? Let us know by following the trip and commenting below.
**UPDATE As at Sept 2010**
Unfortunately we've had to postpone this trip, but it will still happen! Most likely in 2012 though. Some other opportunities have come up that seem more realistic for our *small* budget at the moment... as I hope most of you guys will understand just comes with the territory of travelling.
Keep all the ideas rolling in though, as we'll pick where we left off when we come back to North America!

rachel.louie hey guys!
I'm from Los Angeles, but will be at school in Pennsylvania, and my main suggestions are in my home state and are pretty much regarding food!
While in San Francisco, there are a few places I reccomend for eating:
1. Tadich Grill (mainly seafodd, the ciopinno & clam chowder are SO DELICIOUS)
2. Sears (its a breakfast place on Powell , famous for their "mini sweedish pancakes')
3. Cha Cha Cha ( Spanish tapas on haight St.)
4. R & G Lounge ( its a chinese food place and has a delicious Salt and Pepper Crab, plus the R&G special beef)
as for Los Angeles, you have to go to In 'n Out (its necessary) and to Pink's Hot Dogs. Consider hiking to the hollywood sign, its a lot of fun and won't be too hot during oct-dec. An interesting fact- the metro recently hired artists to redecorate popular stops and if you can actually take a tour of the decorated tunnels via the metro and its pretty awesome. Also check out Venice Beach, fun people!
One more thing in Boston, grab some desserts and pastries at a place called Mike's...its delicious!
Hope I could help, have a great trip and let me know if you'd like any other details!
Danica This sounds like an amazing trip! I've been wanting to go on a road trip!
Portland, OR is awesome. Really pretty. I would say to go to the Rose Garden but it will probably be too cold then.
Yellowstone is great as well. If you go to a town right outside of the park, called West Yellowstone, there is a really great diner/soda shoppe and homemade water taffy shop across the street. It's a really cute town.
Just went to Boston and loved it! Go to the Union Oyster House restaurant, it's the oldest restaurant in america. It's pricey but really good. I would suggest sharing a plate cause it's a lot of food. Oh and get the clam chowder. Seeing all the stuff on the Freedom Trail is also really nice.
Austin is a nice city. I've been there a few times but haven't seen much apart from the University of Texas. I'd definitely have bbq and mexican food. A must for any trip to Texas.
I'm in Lubbock, TX right now for school and there's not much here. I'm from the Rio Grande Valley which is in deep South Texas, where South Padre Island is. As close as you can get to Mexico without being in Mexico. haha.
Have a great trip! :)
Bufillas Hi guys!! I just discovered Globetrooper and I love it!
I've taken a look at the places you intend to visit and I'd just like to comment on some places you might want to see.
Yosemite and Colorado Canyon: amazing wildlife and some incredible views I definitely wouldn't miss.
Route 66: One of those trips I'd like to do in my life & I hope I have time
Alaska & Canada Mountains: Definitely a MUST! It's a shame it may be too cold/snowy for a Road trip around november..
On the "down" side, I wouldn't spend much time in Las Vegas (expensive and artificial), LA or Montreal. All are big cities, too expensive and really not worth much time, having so many other places to visit.. but hey, thats my opinion! (haviing already been there)
Good luck to you guys and I hope you have a great time!!
