DAY 1: (Feb 11, 2012) SANTIAGO

Reception at Santiago airport and transfer to the Hotel.
Half Day Tour Santiago. Afternoon tour around Santiago, visiting the city’s most outstanding attractions, including a walking tour downtown visiting the “Plaza de Armas”, the Cathedral, Ahumada Boulevard and the Government Palace “La Moneda”. Then, by vehicle, visit the main avenues of old Santiago, crossing the bohemian neighborhood of Bellavista and drive up San Cristobal Hill, for a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Andes Mountain Range. After this a visit to the modern part of Santiago, including its elegant neighborhoods, shopping and financial centers. This tour ends at the artisan village of “Los Graneros del Alba”, where artisans can be seen at work, having plenty of time to walk around or do some shopping. Return to the hotel.

DAY 2: (Feb 12, 2012) SANTIAGO / VIÑA DEL MAR & VALPARAISO / SANTIAGO

Full Day Tour Viña del Mar & Vaparaiso. Travel towards the Pacific Coast, through Casablanca Valley, known for its vineyards. On arrival at the coast, visit the town of Viña del Mar with its pretty parks and floral ornaments. Continue to the picturesque port of Valparaíso, founded in the XVI century. The oldest part of town was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. The town is built on many hills which are accessed by narrow streets, long stairways and a series of lifts which were built towards the end of the XIX Century. Optional visit to the Museum House of Pablo Neruda, La Sebastiana. Lunch, before returning to Santiago.

DAY 3: (Feb 13, 2012) SANTIAGO / CALAMA / SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA / MOON VALLEY / SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

Transfer to the airport for your flight.
Flight LAN (LA340): Santiago, Chile (05:15) - Calama, Chile (07:25).
Transfer to your hotel in the village of San Pedro de Atacama through the Domekyo Mountain Range and the Salt Mountain Range.
Half Day Moon Valley Tour. In the afternoon, visit Moon Valley to admire the spectacular sunset reflected on this wonderful landscape nature’s own light show. Return to the hotel.

DAY 4: (Feb 14, 2012) SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA / EL TATIO GEISERS / MACHUCA TOWN / SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

Full Day Tour El Tatio Geisers & Machuca Town. Early departure from the hotel (4:00 AM) to the Geysers del Tatio. Breakfast box in the Geysers before a gentle guided walk around the geothermal field with observation of the natural phenomenon of the steam columns which are viewed at their best as the sun rises over the Andes Mountains. Then visit Machuca, a little and interest town where it is mix the aymara tradition. Return to San Pedro with spectacular views of the Torcopuri y Sairecabur volcanoes. On returning to San Pedro, the rest of the day is at leisure. We suggest visiting the market in San Pedro.

DAY 5: (Feb 15, 2012) SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA / CALAMA / PUERTO MONTT / PUERTO VARAS

Transfer to the airport for your flight.
Flight LAN (LA341/LA285): Calama, Chile (07:55) - Puerto Montt, Chile (14:10).
Pick up at the airport for your city tour.
Half Day City Tour Puerto Montt & Puerto Varas. The tour begins with a visit to the main square of the town, the Plaza de Armas including the Cathedral and the monuments to the German colonists. Continue to a viewpoint overlooking the town and the Reloncavi Sound, where on a clear day the numerous volcanoes of the area and Chiloe Island can be seen. Travel through a residential area to reach the coastal road which goes to the seaside resort of Pelluco. The tour continues to Chinquihue and the fisherman’s village of Angelmó where it is possible to taste some of the local fresh seafood and discover the local wooden crafts and woollen articles for sale. Vsit the town of Puerto Varas which was founded by German settlers. Continue to the viewpoint of Phillipi Hill, overlooking the town and the lake and with wonderful views of the Osorno Volcano in the distance. Travel along the lakeside road towards Puerto Montt, the capital of the region for a full visit, including the beachside village of Pelluco and the Tenglo Canal before the visit ends in the picturesque village of Angelmó where it is possible to try some freshly caught seafood or shop for wooden and woollen souvenirs which are locally made.

DAY 6: (Feb 16, 2012) PUERTO VARAS / CHILOE ISLAND / PUERTO VARAS

Full Day Tour Chiloe Island. Departure from Puerto Varas southwards towards Chiloe Island. This day we will cover around 450 kilometers. In the community of Pargua we will embark a ferry that will cross the Chacao channel in a 45 minute ride. We will disembark in Chacao where we will see the first signs of the classic island architecture called “chilota”. We will visit the village of Quemchi and the area of Aucar where the main highlight is its pedestrian bridge of almost 560 meters long (1700 feet) built in wood that connects this area with a picturesque cemetery located in a small island. We will continue to Colo where a visit to the most traditional church of the island. All the churches in Chiloe Island have been declared world heritage and they were all constructed as from the XVI century. In all the different small villages that will be visited the local classic architecture will be seen with its typical wooden roofs made out of local vegetation. The circuit includes also the city of Castro where the most interesting aspect is their typical houses constructed on plots over the sea called “palafitos” and the city’s traditional craft market where the woollen products are among their most popular. By the end of the afternoon, return to Puerto Varas.

DAY 7: (Feb 17, 2012) PUERTO VARAS / PUNTA ARENAS / PUERTO NATALES

DAY 8: (Feb 18, 2012) PUERTO NATALES / TORRES DEL PAINE / PUERTO NATALES

Full Day Tour Torres del Paine. Full day excursion with lunch included, visiting Torres del Paine National Park. The journey continues through steppes and Patagonia scrub, full of abundant wild life and herds of sheep, up to Torres del Paine National Park. In the park, a large variety of native fauna especially large herds of guanacos can be observed. Visit the Salto Grande of the Pehoe River, with the impressive mountain massif of Torres del Paine in the background. Then visit to Lake Pehoe, Lake Grey and Grey Glacier. Return to Puerto Natales in the evening.

DAY 9: (Feb 19, 2012) PUERTO NATALES / PUNTA ARENAS / SANTIAGO
