Est. Cost 3,000 - 6,000 GBP (GBP United Kingdom Pounds)

Name India, Malaysia, Indonesia, travel and orangutans :)

I am planning a trip around India, Malaysia and Indonesia, for as cheap as possible! (prices above include orangutan expenses) I do have the whole year August 2012-August2013 free, but I would like to travel out of monsoon season and the hottest times of the year.

In malaysia I want to volunteer for an orangutan placement (http://www.orangutanproject.com/content.php?p=303&Prod=6#product or something similar) for 4 weeks.

I'm looking for anyone with similar interests to travel with, make travel plans together and generally have fun on our trip! I am a vegetarian and so veggie companions along the way would be a bonus, but I don't mind either way. Male or female, any age (I'm 22).

India, Malaysia, Indonesia, travel and orangutans :)

A Pat
A Pat Cheryl, I am interesting in going to these countries as well in February and March of 2013. When in February are you planning on leaving and what country do you plan to go to first?

Cheryl
Cheryl That's great! I'm somewhat flexible with the date that I'm leaving the U.S. but it will be the first week of February. Planning to start in Bangkok for a few days, head north then loop back down and through Malaysia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Borneo, Bali and possible some of Australia. How about you?

sam910 Hello peeps, I m living in India and just became a globe trooper! I d like to help out any one who needs help while travelling this vast country. Since I have lived in Europe for 10 years and still work there from time to time, I would like to share my ideas and suggestions so that people leave here with not good but great memories. I m a globe trotter too so feel free to ask! I have been very interested in starting road trips across India which are safe and well organised.

XtinaTinyTraveller

XtinaTinyTraveller Hi Emily! I am travelling India on my own from 29th Oct (arrive in Delhi on 30th) Doing both the north and south for around 2-3 months. It'd be great to travel together! I'm booked on a tour from 12th November around Rajasthan - check out Gap Adventures Roam India - thought it would be a great way to see places, make friends and with less of the hassle. Then I'm doing the rest on my own. Planning to volunteer for a week as well maybe. You can see more about the places I'm planning on visiting here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=204010423872880933418.0004c7ef7d9e929491722&msa=0 (just zoom into India. But it's basically a clockwise route ending up in Mumbai before going to Thailand. I'm also doing Indonesia and Malaysia but not until mid 2013. If you think this matches something you'd like to do, we could perhaps do it together or meet up for certain parts of it! :-)
