I am planning a trip around India, Malaysia and Indonesia, for as cheap as possible! (prices above include orangutan expenses) I do have the whole year August 2012-August2013 free, but I would like to travel out of monsoon season and the hottest times of the year.

In malaysia I want to volunteer for an orangutan placement (http://www.orangutanproject.com/content.php?p=303&Prod=6#product or something similar) for 4 weeks.

I'm looking for anyone with similar interests to travel with, make travel plans together and generally have fun on our trip! I am a vegetarian and so veggie companions along the way would be a bonus, but I don't mind either way. Male or female, any age (I'm 22).

brenda Hi Emily.. I've been looking into a 2012 trip to take in the orangutans in Kalimantan (Tanjung Puting National Park), and maybe a side trip volunteering in a Timor school. I'm from Australia, so maybe could meet your group along the way somewhere, depending which Sanctuary you plan on visiting. Also..I've found that most Orangutan volunteer projects are 'hands-off' the animals (for lots of good reasons) so don't be disappointed if the volunteer work is not animal based! I'm hoping feeding times gets me a little more up-close.. Cheers..Brenda

Leona Hi Emily! I am also looking to do a very similar trip to India/Indonesia and also combine it with orangutans. I am currently working in London. Been here for just over 2 years (originally from ireland) and am really keen to escape for at least a year. If I can combine asia with spending time with animals then that is pretty much the ideal trip for me. I look forward to hearing from you!! Leona
