I am 23 and from Mumbai, India. I plan to go to Mcleodganj, Dharamshala and Palampur in Himachal Pradesh some time in Mar-Apr 2013. For ten days minimum. Ilari Toivonen Hi Carly. I'm travelling around the world for a year in 2013-2014 and I'll be in Australia for maybe a few months. I'd love to catch up. I'll buy you an emu egg omelet or something in exchange of piece of guidance because by the time I'm there you will be an Australia expert and I'll be in a serious need of advisory. I also have drivers licence so dont ditch Laurens idea just yet ;)

Lauren Hey Carly, I'm from Australia and might be around Sydney when you're there. Have you thought about buying an old campervan or a cheap car+tent combo to travel around in? I think this is a really good way to see Australia, giving you the freedom to go off the beaten track a bit more than a bus schedule.
