Interrail through Southern- and Western Europe - Group Travel

I would like to go on an Interrail trip during May and June this year.
I've already been quite far in planning that trip, but unfortunately the mate who wanted to join it and who planned with me won't have time for it now, because of some private problems.

Anyway, I haven't given up yet and would be really happy if there is someone out there who might be interested in the following. Everything can be changed, its just how we planned our trip and how it could look like.

We planned to buy the "22 days in a row" global Interrail pass and start our trip by flying to Naples, Italy. After staying there for 2 days, including a visit to Pompeji, we wanted to go by train to Rome for another 2-3 days. Continuing our trip to the north, we wanted to visit cities like Orvieto, Siena and Florence (all in all another 3-4 days) and end up in Venice. From there we wanted to take a train to Cote' Azure, but not without stopping for 1, or better even 2 days for the Cinque Terre, a region located about 50 kilometres south of Genua. It's the place with the probably most wonderful landscape and southern flair around the entire Mediterranean Sea. Google some pics if you don't believe it. ;D
Anyway, after that stop we wanted to choose Nice as a basis and wanted to explore towns like Monaco, Cannes and/or St. Tropez.

Well, after that point we where quite unsure how to continue. One idea was to go by train to Paris, stay there for some time and end our tour with a short tour through England, maybe also Scotland. Another one was to go to Barcelona and some other Spanish towns, and the last one was a combination of some Highlights from France and Spain.

Well, that was the plan. Nothing is fix, it was just our guideline and I would gladly change it if there are some cool ideas of interesting places, which would be worth to be visited. ( Still, I would really like to stay some time in Italy, thats the most important part of the whole journey for me.)
