Map of Jordan

Jordan is located in the Middle East, between Saudi Arabia and Syria. The country is bounded by the Red Sea to the west, Iraq to the north-west, Syria to the north, Israel and the Palestinian Territories to the west, and Egypt to the south-west. Geographically, Jordan consists of three main regions: the east bank of the Jordan River valley; the west bank of the Jordan River valley; and the Highlands. The east bank is home to most of Jordan’s population, as well as its capital city, Amman. The west bank is occupied by Israel, while the Highlands are sparsely populated. The culture of Jordan is a mix of Arab and Western influences. Jordanian culture is based on Islamic traditions but has been influenced by Western cultures such as music, dance, and cuisine.
