Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in southern Africa. It is bordered by Zambia to the north, Botswana to the west, South Africa to the south, and Mozambique to the east. The country has a diverse geography, with a variety of landscapes ranging from savannahs to mountains. The climate also varies depending on location, with the lower-lying areas being hotter and more humid than the higher regions. Zimbabwe is home to a number of different cultures and ethnic groups. The majority of the population is black African, but there are also significant numbers of white Zimbabweans, Asians, and people of mixed race. English is the official language, but many people also speak Shona or Ndebele. Zimbabwe has a long history dating back to the Iron Age, when it was inhabited by Bantu-speaking peoples. The country was later colonized by the British, and achieved independence in 1980. Today, Zimbabwe is a popular tourist destination due to its natural beauty and rich culture.
