You will have the morning free to rest and we suggest that you eat a light lunch in either your hotel or in one of the surrounding restaurants. In the afternoon, we will embark on the Cusco City tour (entrance to the archeological centers and museums included). We will visit the Plaza de Armas, "the main square", the Cathedral Santo Domingo, Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and also visit archeological sites like Sacsayhuaman, Q'enko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay that border the city. The tour finishes at approximately 6:30 pm when we return you to the Plaza de Armas. There you can have dinner in one of the exquisite restaurants in the area. (No meals are included on this day, but we are always happy to offer suggestions).
**"Optional Buffet Dinner with Folkloric Show: Additional $24 per person"
DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY TOUR
city-tour-07You will have breakfast (included) and be picked up from your hotel at 8:15 am. This is a full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley visiting the colorful Indian market in Pisac where you will be able to appreciate the mixture of color and tradition and have an opportunity to test your bartering skills, interact with the local craftsmen and purchase their hand-made souvenirs. Pisac is located at the entrance of the Sacred Valley. The Valley is (31km)/(19mi) from Cusco, and at an altitude of (2,970m)/(9,700 ft). Followed by Pisac is, Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca empire. They evoke their ancestral heritage and give you a feeling of what it would be like to live during this era. Here you will have lunch in a typical restaurant. The last visit will be to the Chinchero market. Chinchero is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. Its major claim to tourism is its colorful market which is much less tourist-orientated than the market at Pisac. At the end, we will return you to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco at approximately 6:30 pm. The night is free for you to eat in a restaurant of your choice; although we always have plenty of suggestions for you should you require them. Note: Take this tour on market days: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Bilingual guided tour on different days. B*L*
