My friend and I will be in Mongolia around the 20th of August 2011 for at least 2 weeks.
We plan to use a local operator (prob from a guesthouse) to organise our trip. So far I have been quoted around 85USD per day all inclusive (15+ days tours) for a loop starting and ending in UB. We can also plan shorter loop trips coming back to UB each time.

Anyone interested in joining us? I've just started researching so am open to suggestions and slightly flexible on dates too.
With more people the rates pp will be lower of course.

Todd Hi Marie, sounds like a cool trip. It's slightly off topic, but Lauren from the Globetrooper Team is currently trekking 1000 miles across the Gobi Desert. They left UB a week ago and have covered 200km so far. You can read about the expedition here: gobi2011.com; might give you some ideas :)
