See the raw power and speed of the best flat horses at 2015 Royal Ascot.

Royal Ascot has seen many of the all-time great Flat horses compete for the best races over five days and 30 thrilling races. Royal Ascot 2015 betting is available well in advance and is the most eagerly anticipated betting event of the Flat season.

The Royal Meeting begins with three Group 1 races, the most on any day of the five day meeting. The Queen Anne Stakes is the curtain raiser of Royal Ascot and has been won by some of the greatest milers, including Frankel, Goldikova, Toronado, Canford Cliffs, Paco Boy and Declaration Of War. The 2015 running of the Queen Anne Stakes will potentially see Kingman add his name to the prestigious list of winners. With the King’s Stand Stakes, St James’s Palace Stakes, Coventry Stakes, Ascot Stakes and Windsor Castle Stakes on the first day of the 2015 Royal Meeting, it truly is a day to remember.

Day Two of Royal Ascot is highlighted by the Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, which is a race for older horses over a mile and a quarter. The Prince Of Wales’s Stakes has been won by some fantastic racehorses over the years, with the likes of The Fugue, Duke Of Marmalade, Ouija Board, Dubai Millennium and So You Think on the prestigious list of winners of this race. With the Jersey Stakes, Duke of Cambridge Stakes, Royal Hunt Cup, Queen Mary Stakes and Sandringham Handicap all on the same day, Prince of Wales’s Stakes day at 2015 Royal Ascot will be one to remember.

Thursday at Royal Ascot is Gold Cup Day. The Group 1 Gold Cup is the most prestigious race for stayers, with endless stamina required to win this race over two and a half miles. The remarkable Aidan O’Brien trained Yeats won the Gold Cup four times in a row from 2006-2009 and is probably the greatest Gold Cup winner ever. In 2013, Estimate became the first Gold Cup winner to be owned by the Queen, which raised the roof at Ascot on the day known colloquially as Ladies’ Day. With races like the Norfolk Stakes and Ribblesdale Stakes also on Gold Cup day, there is plenty of top class racing to whet the appetite.

The Coronation Stakes is the big race of the fourth day of Royal Ascot raced over a mile for three year old fillies. Typically featuring horses that have performed well in the 1,000 Guineas, Poule d’Essai des Pouliches or the Irish 1,000 Guineas, the Coronation Stakes is one of the toughest races at Royal Ascot. 2013 winner Sky Lantern is the most recent 1,000 Guineas heroine to go on to Coronation Stakes glory. The Albany Stakes, King Edward VII Stakes and Queen’s Vase will help to make Coronation Stakes day at Royal Ascot 2015 one to savour.

Royal Ascot finishes on a Saturday with Diamond Jubilee Stakes Day. The race was renamed in 2012 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The race that year was one of the most eagerly anticipated of the whole meeting as Australian superstar sprinter Black Caviar made the long journey to take on the best six furlong horses from across Europe. She won the race, but it was a lot closer than it should’ve been, with Moonlight Cloud almost causing an upset. The race has been won by the likes of Slade Power, Starspangledbanner, Choisir and Danehill, which shows the prestige of the contest. The 2015 running of this race should be one to savour.
