Are you one of those people who love Paris with a passion and just can’t keep away from this captivating city? Each time you go there, you probably like to add some novel experiences to your album of personal Paris memories.

Here are a couple of ideas for new and different things to do next time you are in the French capital. For example, did you realise that the world-famous Champagne wine region is only 90 miles (150 km) away? It can be easily toured in a day on one of the excellent Champagne tours from Paris.

Everything is delightful about these excursions. The route goes through charming countryside, with beautifully kept vineyards and quaint villages. Most Champagne tours from Paris also give you the chance to explore the ancient city of Reims. As the traditional place where the kings of France were crowned, Reims played a vitally important part in French history.

After the history comes the “bubbly”! Visit the great Champagne houses of France, such as the House of Mumm and the Moët and Chandon cellars, and learn how Champagne is made. You will also discover how to distinguish a good Champagne and how to select Champagnes for yourself. Also you get plenty of opportunity to sample the product! The cellars are usually a bit cold (10°C), so wear warm clothes, or take a light jacket.

Back in the city, why not get a completely different perspective on the French capital by taking one of the Paris Segway tours? If you have not met a Segway before, it’s an amazing personal transporter that was originally invented by NASA!

This futuristic two-wheeled electric vehicle goes just about anywhere a pedestrian can go and is a breeze to ride once you get used to it. There are no controls, you simply direct the Segway by the tilt of your body.

Paris Segway tours take you through the beautiful city parks and along the side walks. You get great views of all the major landmarks and monuments – the Eiffel Tower, École Militaire, Les Invalides and Place de la Concorde, plus the Arc de Triomphe, Musée D’Orsay, Louvre, Champs Elysées, and much more besides.

As you glide along, the guide tells entertaining stories and anecdotes about the places on the route.
