Name Peru Cordillera Blanca
Fly to Lima, travel to Huaraz by bus. Spend 3 weeks trekking and climbing in the Cordillera Blanca, sometime between June 25 and August 7. Do a 3 or 4-day trek to acclimatize and climb three intermediate peaks, including Tocclaraju and/or Chopicalqui (20,000 ft+). I am considering a local guide service who can be flexible about the dates, and will run a trip with 2 climbers.
Last summer I had signed up for a trip with a US company, but it was cancelled due to limited number of climbers. It appears that local guides are less expensive and more flexible about dates. The cost depends on the number of climbers. This year I am looking to join a group or to find 1 or 2 to join me.
I am 60, intermediate climber, in good shape. I have hiked, climbed and backpacked in the Wasatch, Wind Rivers, Uintas, Sierras, Cascades. I have climbed in Ecuador to 18,600 ft. Hablo un poco espaƱol.
