Hi my names Marcia Stacey I'm 25 and I'm looking to travel around the world. I'd like to start off inAsia/Thailand for a few months then on to Australia,new Zealand and south America. I'm currently working and saving and I'm looking for some one that wants a change of lifestyle, meet new people and experience new cultures. Im looking to explore and have a good 1 year world travelling experience. I'm open to suggestions and dates and destinations can be moved around this is my first time at this and it's all very new planning. All my friends are working or just don't have the bottle so I'm going for it but don't fancy doing it on my own. If interested holla back x

Stefan Hello Marcia. im new to this whole backpacking and traveling the world. but i am very interested in this sort of trip. I live in ca and i have family in thailand where i "plan" to start my trip for 2012. recently just turned 21 and im waiting to see what the world and other cultures have to offer.

Todd Good luck Stefan. You'll love Thailand. Make sure you go up north too. We just spent 3 months there and had a blast. Nothing more fun that riding motorbikes up into the hills and through small towns seeing elephants and tribespeople.

Marcia stacey Hi damian that's pretty much the same as me I'm flexible with dates but I was hoping to leave in the next 9 months or so. I'm 25 and live in the uk. I want to experience new cultures and experiences and was planning on travelling for a year my budget is tight as well still putting money into my funds. I'm new to all this but just think I want to see more than the uk. I'd like to plan before I go a bit but the more people who want to join me the better. Give me a message back if this sounds good.

Marcia stacey What sort of month are you expecting to go to Thailand, Australia? Because I can alter the dates to august that would probably be a better time for me to go. And starting from Canada could be good for me as I have a friend that has gone on a 6 month visit to Canada. I'm open to suggestions and Mexico would be good to see to. Just at some point of the trip I'd like to head to Australia and Thailand. What do you think

chowitzer Australia and especially Thailand are high up on my list of places I'd like to see but as I'm planning to travel slowly from west to east those destinations will probably be nearer the end of my trip, and since I've never embarked on anything this large before I'm still not entirely sure how long that will take me. I can say that after I am in South America (I will have family business to attend to in Chile in December) I will be looking to cross the ocean toward Africa then north through Europe before staying for a short while in England (I've family there as well). I'll use England as sort of a "home-base" to plan my path eastward which will eventually culminate in getting to the East Indies and SE Asia and Oceania. Your thoughts?

Todd Hi Marcia, we're in Chiang Mai in Thailand now, highly recommend it. Super cheap, lots of longer-term travelers to catch up with, and a nice base to ride up North into the hills.

chowitzer This is exactly the sort of thing I've been planning. I was going to leave to travel the world in August of next year sometime, starting from my home in western Canada and heading eastward through to the Canadian Maritime, then down through the United States along the east coast, doing odd work, perhaps teaching (I'm going to get my TESOL cert.) and simply walking, taking cheap buses or even hitchhiking along the way. The rub is that I must be in South America by December of the same year, Chile to be precise, which is where my road would eventually take me via Mexico, Central America and the Andes region.
