I'm from the United States, and I am absolutely dying to experience more. I'm so tired of everyone wanting me to go to school, or work up in a company, when I haven't found my passion in life yet. I want to enlighten myself and take a trip that will take me completely out of everything I've know. I've seen so many of my friends go out of the country and have crazy experiences. I am sick of looking at their pictures and pining for what they have. I'm taking control, and I am making this trip happen. I am flexible with my dates, however I want to start in 2013, so I have time to save, and if we start in the summer I will have to reverse my route so we don't all die while in SEA :) I'm not stuck to my route, but I made it a logical path of places I want to visit. I want to chase summer and spend my time relaxing, eating, soaking up culture, learning, and having a blast. If you are interested in joining me during my journey I would appreciate the company. I am nervous to go alone, but sometimes you have to take the leap, I can't wait forever for someone to jump on my band wagon. My trip still has a lot of planning and budgeting. I know where I want to go, now I just need to research things I want to do, cities to fly into, visas, costs, etc. If you have any advice let me know. I plan on buying place to place, and I hope some of you will end up joining me. I know its a while away, but quite a few countries will be more expense, but I want to experience. And I don't want my budget to hold me back. Look forward to hearing from you (:

Damian Steph, I'm on the same boat, but thinking of starting in July 2012. At least that's the plan for now. We should connect if not for the whole trip we can link up for legs of the trip. I'm also flexible in timing and location so I'm sure we can work something out.

Steph Sounds awesome, right now I'm trying to get a better job so that I can better gauge when I'll be able to afford/ can dip out of the job to go do what I want. Do you have a route decided on?

Mathieu Brennan Bergeron I'm in the same state of mind as you are, did two years of work after my college and I have no passion left, I want to travel the world before going back to school and try different jobs while travelling. I looked up Woofing and couch surfing and I also found a great website called http://www.workaway.info/ which lists a lot of small households in need of help in return for food and shelter. Doing those things will help me save on costs, and I'll try to travel by foot the more I can. I'll keep you informed if I find anything useful for lone travelers!

Steph That would be great thanks! Yeah I wouldn't mind doing work at hostels for room and board. Or volunteering, but I plan on working insane amounts before I go so I'll have time to enjoy and not worry so much about the money.
