1/8/12 UPDATE: My trip got delayed to July, but still on track. I now have a better idea of what the trip may entail and what it may look like, but I'm still flexible with locations and timing. I'm glad I joined this site and have already connected with some of great people here. If anyone else is interested let me know.

I'm 35, live in California and have been working too much for too long to build a career, a name for myself and to secure my future, only to realize that I had forgotten to live my life today. I'm ready for the experience of a lifetime. I don't yet have any specific plans and haven't done a lot of research, but I'm hoping to find someone with similar interests that wants to plan this with me. I rather not do this on my own as the best memories are those you can share with someone for years. I'm very flexible and time and money are not an issue (to a certain degree). I welcome all ideas, tips and advice as I've never attempted anything remotely similar. I'd love to find someone to go with from start to finish, but I'm also interested in meeting other world travelers for legs of the trip. Let me know what you guys think.

Laarni Hello, it's mid-August now, have you started? If so, will you be in Sydney, Australia 1st two weeks in September? I'll be there from the 1-12. I may be staying at a relatives house, but if you want to join me on some day trips let me know. I've only booked one guided trip for the Blue Mountains and Featherdale on September 6.
