I am planning a adventure of a life time to south america. I am flying to salvador Brasil in early december, and following the beach towns down to Rio. From Rio i plan to check out the pantanal, and back to rio for the new years.

after NYE here is a rough idea of my itinery:

rio to iguazu falls
iguazu to buenos aires
Buenos aires to el cafate
~possibly checking out ushuaia
check out the lake district
bus to the border of bolivia
salta de uyuni
national parks + hiking
visit lake titcana and onto peru
cusco and machu pichu
onto equador
galapagos islans.
fly back to rio for carnaval.

end of my travels.

im very interested in meeting new people on varios legs of my journey. i would love to find companions for certain parts if not all !

Todd Isn't it liberating to give notice?! We've been in Montreal for three months and we're heading to Peru on Saturday. Then to Argentina after that for a couple of months. So keep in touch guys, because we may still be there when you both arrive in December.

Stace Hey guys, I am also going to travel around South America (and Mexico) starting in late December for at least a couple of months. Would be great to find a travel buddy for some if not most of the trip, I really have no firm plans as of yet in terms of destinations and dates. Liking the sounds of your itenerary... What sort of trip / experience are you looking for?

Todd Hi Stace, we're currently in Peru and will probably head to Argentina in a month or so. (I still can't get over how cheap it is here.) We'll be here until late January, so let me know if you'll be around then.

Lauren You can get a nice dinner out for US$5 (but can make your own for a lot less) and hostels charge from as little as US$5 a night too

Lauren Hi do you know roughly when you'll be heading to El Calafate from Buenos Aires? Not exactly sure where we'll be, but somewhere in between there if you want to meet up.

pej i think it will be late january or early Febuary. i have decided to stay in BA for 1-2 months. so i am interested in taking a mini trip to El Calafate
