Email to FriendsOne of the South American Explorers Club's members is organizing a trip to Mindo for hiking, bird-watching and photography.
Members will meet at the Quito Clubhouse on Jorge Washington y Leonidas Plaza in time to leave at 6:30pm.
Mindo is an hour from Quito and is surrounded by cloud forest. There are miles of trails, perfect spots to snap pictures of parrots and ziplining for those who want a bit of adventure.
Accommodation is in one of the many hostels that give SAE members a discount.
Mindo is a small but worthy destination with a handful of restaurants selling everything from pizza to four star meals. There is one cash machine in town but it is not reliable. Bring sturdy walking shoes, your camera and rain gear.
