Name Southeast Asia for a few months

I'm in Australia at the moment, leaving for Singapore for a couple of days at the end of January, then my plans are pretty basic- go somewhere in Southeast Asia! I want to explore as many places as possible and do as many things as I can, eat local food, generally soak up some culture and have a lot of fun! I'm very flexible with my route- possibly Borneo to begin with or maybe just the typical backpacker route of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Would consider Indonesia too if it wouldn't cost too much extra! Basically just very flexible with route, destinations and time frame. :-)
