Name Thailand first - rest of SE Asia next ?
Hi everyone, I'm a late poster, but I am going to Thailand in two weeks from now - 13th of November. I graduated a few months back, and always loved travelling, so today I'm just taking advantage of the opportunity.
To be honest, I do not know what my trip will be about. I went to Vietnam for a month a year ago, and loved it so much, I want to try another Asian country. I am getting a visa running for two months, to which I can add an extra month, therefore I'm planning to stay until the end of January, give it or take. One of my best friend is getting married in Thailand in January - if you're nice, why don't you join ?
So far, my plan is to stay a few days in Bangkok, then go up north to Chiang Mai (stopping on the way to Sukhothai), spend a wee more than ten days there, and go South to Pukhet, to enjoy the sun and beaches. I'm expecting good things about Chiang Mai and think this might be the kind of place I would really enjoy - laid back atmosphere, affordable cost of living, nature all around, and still plenty of attractions. Then get back in time to Bangkok for the wedding, of course.
On the way, I will also be sending résumés here and there. I would like to work in SEA for a while, or maybe set up a business - but this part of the trip will mostly be for discovery, to know what I environment I would prefer to live in. If I don't feel like Thailand would be my place, I then would go to Vietnam, passing by Cambodia / Laos.
About me, I love music, meeting people, getting lost with another culture, I like being outside, going on hikes, zoos (don't ask me why), but can also enjoy a night in to chat online a little with friends. Oh and I love jokes. But I'm bad at it.
If you think we could get along together, I am very flexible on the trip, so if you want to see something I didn't mention, please say it !
I wasn't able to connect with my Facebook, but feel free to add me - Quentin Parentino.
