Name The Pennines Way - getting wild and lonely

What are we going to do?
I am looking for: adventure, wilderness, solitude and the promise of some amazing views!

I am rather the sporty type, which basically means: walking and this is what I would like to do with you, as far as you're a little experienced and seeking adventures in lovely GB.

Having walked through the Dartmoor National Park and Lake District in England as well as the Cairngorms in Scotland, I already had the chance to gather some experience when it comes to lonely areas in GB.

Getting closer to the date of my journey, I've done some more research and decided to walk the Pennines Way. The Pennines Way is one of Englands most famous and most beautiful long distance tracks, going from the Peak District National Park in the South to the Northumberland National Park close to the Scottish Border. This makes 268 miles (about 430km) in total, to be accomplished in 3 weeks or less.
I am not yet sure, about doing the whole way. Maybe I will start in the Dales and therefore shorten the trip due to my lack of time.

I have no travel partner yet. I will do my trip alone if necessary, but if you think about doing something similiar this year - don't hesitate to contact me! We don't have to stick together like glue, if you only want to walk with me for some days or a part of the way, I am fine with that :)

Please note that I love roughing it. B&B and hostels in this area are likely to be full in this time of the year and I don't want to book anything in advance as I don't know how many miles I will make at each day - this basically means campsites or wildcamping ;)

xoxo Pia

TheDaiWalker Have you started your hike yet? I walked from Lands End to John O'Groats (1400km) in 2011. The area of the country you are suggesting is indeed beautiful. I have no plans myself but I may join you. Let me know the plan! :)
