Anne I like it! I am 27 years old and plan on starting in Ireland, then down through the UK, England, amsterdam, Germany, Paris, France, Switzerland, Italy and then Greece. If you are traveling anywhere near there we should meet up. I plan on leaving end of June through mid July. I have never backpacked before either, so this should be an awesome experience. I just plan on soaking up every moment spent there. I will be hosteling it all the way and overnight training it as well. Let me know. Where are u in the US?

compwc18 Hey Anne and Sarah, sorry I haven't been on here for quite awhile... my itinerary has changed quite a bit over the last month or so but most places are still the same... what are your plans... I leave the States on 7/10 arrive in Paris on 7/11 and am staying through 8/9 where I leave Portugal... It would be nice to meet some friendly faces for a part or two of the trip... - Jeremy

Anne I am planning a trip to Europe as well and have been looking for people to go with or get in contact with. This would be my first backpacking experience and thought about doing it solo as well and just meeting people along the way because after all it is part of the overall experience. But I am going to go only for maybe 2-3 weeks in the middle of June to beginning of July. I am a 27 year old teacher and have the summers off so I am taking advantage while I can.

Anne Hey there!! I am actually leaving the 20th due to arrive in Dublin Ireland. So, if any of you guys are down to meet there that would be awesome! If not maybe in another spot. Let me know. I am starting in Ireland, Scotland, UK, Germany, Austria, Amsterdam, Italy...I am pretty flexible too since I am backpacking. I will be hosteling it almost everyday for the exception of a hotel once a week just to treat myself ;) Anne

Anne I like the way your talking. I will be starting off in Ireland and then traveling over and down from there. I plan on backpacking for 3 weeks or so but like you said no set plans. I thought about getting just a one way there and dealing with it then but...anyways have you traveled to Europe before? How do you go about looking for "work for a day and get a meal" places? That sounds very intriguing and awesome! It is all about the experience and that is what I want to get out of it for sure!

TheJcor Hey Anne! Good to meet you...in writing anyway, haha. When are you going to be traveling? This will be my first time in any of the European countries, so needless to say, I'm really stoked for the trip.

I found a few sites courtesy of that wonderful timewaster, StumbleUpon, where hosts and those looking to be hosted can throw a post up. I've been looking around workaway.info in particular, there's a ton of stuff on there all of the world. I was planning on using this site to make a few jumps around on the way to Prague, hopefully find a barteding gig for a night or two, or even picking olives or painting a fence haha.

Are you going to be in the area (super broad, i know) when we are?

Anne Well, I plan on starting in Ireland, then taking a ferry to the UK then working my way over and down if that makes sense to Amsterdam, Germany, Paris, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and then end up in Greece, then take a flight back to the US. I don't think i'll be traveling to Prague, everywhere around there ha ha of course. Will you be traveling to anywhere I am going? Picking olives sounds fun.

TheJcor It sounds like we'l cross right in the middle. Il be in Italy the end of June to the first week of july, then headed north. Ive got 2 weeks from the 5th of July to get to Prague to meet some buddies so anywhere in between then is an adventure. Sounds like Switzerland or Eastern Germany is goigng to be the closest we get...I wouldnt be in the Netherlands/Berlin area until after I meet up with my friends, on the way to Tomorrowland.

TheJcor Yes! Florence on the 5th of July, then not too sure where. I was entertaining the idea of maybe going to Greece and headed north from there to Prague, but im still not too sure.

Anne well...I guess that is the whole point right? I know the places I want to go but that's about it. Everything else is just winging it when i get there. Let me know if you make some more concrete plans on places you want to go. I am not going to Prague that I know of yet but who knows it could happen...

TheJcor Hey Anne! Sorry it took so long to get back. I have also got my tickets... I will be all over Italy from the 21st of June to the 3rd or so, when I will be in Florance. From there, I want to do a day or two in Venice, then rail back to Milan/Genoa and then go through Switzerland and Austria on the way to the Czech Republic and Prague for the 19th of July. Seriously still dont know what Im going to do in between those dates haha. anything and everything I guess!

Anne I am totally winging it too! I am 27 and pretty laid back as well. I plan on starting in Dublin Ireland first then taking a ferry to the UK, I have places I want to go but not much after that. I am going to Eurrail it as well as well as hostel it.

DaveJAFA it would be great to work in the UK but i would need to apply for a working visa. ill have to look into that soon. im off to vietnam this saturday and im going for a month. after that i will book my flights to europe. im looking to go in may some time
