Todd Bemmer, we're in Thailand now. Will be here for a few months. If you haven't already been, you'll love it. Super cheap, great food, nice people, lots to do, etc. $1500 is more than plenty here. It costs $150 for a room for a month with a/c, tv, etc. Give us a yell if you're coming and we can catch up.

bemmer65 Thanks Todd! I'd heard about $30-$50 a night for a nice hotel/resort but $150 a month?! I'll definitely catch up with you before I head over. I've done ZERO planning so far.

Todd We're in Chiang Mai. Internet speed here is about 5Mbps in most places, which is very fast for SE Asia. Send me a msg if you get up to CM, there a are lots of travelers here and we often get together for dinner or drinks or whatever.

bemmer65 Hi Todd, I'm leaving in about 10 days! Still no plans about where we're heading once we arrive. We'll spend a couple days in Bangkok and then I think just check the weather and head where it's best. Where are you at right now?

Eager I am sorry to barge in, but where do u get a room like this for 150$ a months(seriously)? I am visiting Thailand this fall and I can really use some advice..
