Chris

I love food, culture, and history. I'm very interested in traveling the world, and ideally immersing myself in local cultures as much as possible.

I haven't traveled in 10 years because of a lack of funds while attending University. I'm at a stage in my career where I have enough income (and plenty of vacation days!) to comfortably travel annually.

I'm 28, fit and active, so would love adventure based travel. I don't drink or party and don't enjoy socializing with those who drink to excess. You won't find me at night clubs, but I do love experiencing local culture.

If I can't find like minded individuals, I'm ready to go it alone as I see the world, one country at a time.

Indigoblue2 I have been to Italy 3 times on my own and loved the experience, I would find it to be much more interesting to share everything with another person. I also do not want to have to deal with Italian men hitting on me constantly. That was my only complaint in traveling in Italy, otherwise, I love everything about Italy!

Chris I'd love to share the trip with someone else. Going with someone who's somewhat familiar with the country would be awesome! When are you planning on visiting? My listed "cost" is, well ... I have no idea! I'd like to spend as little as possible by being price conscious (hostels, couchsurfing, etc). It looks like decent Italian hostels cost around $30 a night, so I think it will be less than what I stated. What have your experiences been, budget wise?

Chris I've been planning a trip to Italy for September (to avoid the heat and crowds of August), but may consider August if it means traveling with people! Moving all the way from Venice down to Sicily in 2-3 weeks, while on a budget, seems like a pretty ambitious plan, though.
