Jessica_Alice Hi Jess! I Havn't booked anything yet as I'm foccusing on my Asian trip at the moment thats coming up....but have got a general idea of where I'd like to go but very open to other places too...and Rome would be on the cards too :) Do you use facebook? If you do, add me if you like so we can chat about it further (the link is on my page on here) Look forwards to hearing from you!! Jess
Remy
Remy I like the sound of your trip. I had planned to be in SE Asia around September before flying to North America, but am now leaning towards Europe and postponing my American trip until later in 2011. I'd like to see as much as practical, and especially by bike where possible. I'm also a keen hiker and love the untrammelled, so The Alps, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe are high on my list...
Jessica_Alice
Jessica_Alice Hi Remy! I have decided it would be best for me to change the dates of this (as I'm sure I will run out of money before being able to even get to Europe). I will be going now in their spring next year, early april...hopefully march! If you are still interested with those dates let me know :) Jess

inthesky729 Wow, sounds like a cool trip Jess. Definitely matches my own itinerary...I'm looking at getting into Nepal around the start of October, spending a couple of weeks there, mainly on the Annapurna Sanctuary trek, then zig-zagging my way across India for two months. Any particular parts of India you're keen to hit?
Jessica_Alice
Jessica_Alice Cool! I got sick on the Annapurna last time but was great still! No particular parts of India, although I definately want to go to Goa, just so I can say I've been to one of those crazy psychedelic beach parties :)

inthesky729 haha, yeah, Goa's definitely on my list too. I'm hoping to veg out there for a week or so at the end of my time in India...think I'll need it after the craziness of the rest of the country. Yep, I'm on facebook. What's your e-mail? I'll search for you on there and add!

Jessica_Alice hi guys, you thinking of going to Tibet also? I plan to go mid sep to Tibet and then a number of weeks in India. If your interested lemme know :) http://globetrooper.com/india-nepal-tibet-2010
dev
dev Hi all, I am also planning to head to nepal and tibet in sept. i have been to india last year and loved it, and would be very keen to head back there as there is so much i didn;t get to see last time. hire/ buying bikes sounds like an awsome idea. how long were you planning to spend in nepal/ tibet
Todd
Todd Hey dev, consider this trip if you'd like to go back to india: http://globetrooper.com/the-great-circular-indian-railway-challenge-2011. There are apparently 20 or so people confirmed (here and elsewhere), so it should be quite an adventure.

Jessica_Alice Hi dev! Will need to be in a tour group thingy for Tibet and have found one with SnowLion for 9 days - I have no set plans yet on how long I would be going to the other countries for as I'm leaving it open...just want to make sure I wont be alone in india and nepal as could be intense going solo - standing out from the crowd with long blonde hair and all haha. So really I am pretty laid back with the plans, I havn't booked the flights yet either.

TuckerWasHere
TuckerWasHere Jess, sounds like an awesome trip. I'm actually going to be in that area of the world at the exact same time. I have an around the world ticket that is flexible where I can change the dates if needed. I think I fly into New Delhi around mid Oct and leave around Dec 1st or so.
Jessica_Alice
Jessica_Alice Hey! Were you thinking of going to Tibet also? Need to be in a tour group to go to Tibet, just trying to find a group of us to go around mid september. I plan to be in India around early-mid oct so that works out well also :) You can add me on facebook if you like, I am (unfortunately) on there way too much these days.

TuckerWasHere Yes, totally thinking about going to Tibet. I'm a part time photographer, so Tibet is definitely on my bucket list of places to see. I've started a page on facebook to keep friends/family up to date with my travels http://www.facebook.com/tuckerwashere

Jessica_Alice Sounds amazing - may I ask what voluntry work you will be doing?
jessica85
jessica85 I will be working in a primary school teaching English. The school has never had a volunteer before. The school is 3/4 km away from Siem Reap town so I am going to hopefully buy a second hand bicycle to get there and back each day.

Jessica_Alice Hey! I am looking to be Tibet around this time (although no flights or concrete plans have been made yet). I am not so sure if you can only get through Tibet via China? My plan was India & Tibet - I have been to Nepal before so may not go there again. Let me know if you are still looking for folks to travel with :) Jess Either of the tours you posted would suit though

inthesky729 Hi Jessica! You can get into Tibet via China, but you require the appropriate permits, which have to be obtained through a tour group/guide. What kind of itinerary were you looking at? If you don't want to go in through China, then you can go reach Lhasa overland from Nepal, or fly in from elsewhere, but again, you require the permit. My plan is to head into India also, after doing a little bit of trekking in Nepal.

Todd
Todd Hey Jessica, the 'talk' forum is a bit confusing, but we're working on it. I think what happened is that you posted a comment under 'General Talk' on the 'talk' page. Whereas, if you want to comment on someone's post on a Trip, you must do it on the trip page. We structured it that way so people would have to visit a trip before asking questions about it on the 'talk' page. :)

Jessica_Alice Ok great, will be easier I think. Do you have facebook by any chance? And yes, from Brisvegas!

Jessica_Alice Wow quick reply! I wanted to avoid going to China (just my little personal boycott) so would probably go through Nepal in that case. I am very flexible iternary wise, however, I am on a budget so plan to rough it. I have no idea what to expect due to the chaos there at the moment, but just being in Tibet will make me happy as pie...have been wanting to go there for a while. I have found another guy who is wanting to do the same trip as I (although I havn't personally met him).
