Lauren Hey Jaxon, great trip! Love your attitude. Todd and I (co-founders of Globetrooper) have been travelling since June 2010. We're in Berlin for the next couple of months and plan to be back in Sydney/Canberra, Australia in March next year. So let us know if you decide to check out the east coast, it would be great to meet up.
Jaxon
Jaxon Hi Lauren, I am actually from Sydney, moved to Perth a few months ago for a bit of a sea change. As nice as the place is, Perth isn't somewhere I can stay for too long because time goes backwards here if you know what I mean! No doubt we will cross paths at some stage in the future. Great website by the way, love it!

Lauren Thanks. Maybe you should consider Chiang Mai in Thailand? There are many travel bloggers always coming in and out of there. I bet that's the real hub spot compared to anywhere else in the world. Otherwise Europe, as it's so easy to hop across the border to meet up or go to a conference.

Jaxon That's not a bad idea actually. I was in CM for the Thai New Years water festival back in 2008 and had an amazing time. I'll very likely find myself there at some stage in the next 12 months.

Lauren Hey Harsha, I just spent 2 months in Chiang Mai. I'd definitely recommend it as a place to go but you might not have time as it's up north.
Bryan
Bryan Hey hows your trip going?? I'm heading to Oz in January.
Lauren
Lauren Hi Matt, I'll also be around Canberra or Sydney in February/March. Woud be great to meet for a beer.

Lauren Hey Maxime, I should be in Australia in Feb/March. I'm Aussie but have been travelling for 15 months. Let me know if you want to meet up for a beer in Sydney.
Maxime366
Maxime366 Hi Lauren! That sounds great. We are traveling from Melbourne to Cairns over 3-4 weeks on the hop on hop off Greyhound bus starting the second week of February. Sydney is definitely on the itinerary. Will be in touch!

Lauren Wow Olga, this sounds incredible. Right out of a tomb-raider style movie. I respect your intentions so much. Hope we can help you find some travel partners here at GT. Cheers
Olga
Olga Thank you! I have read some of your postings, you did a lot of travel. It's very encouraging to see that you came back in one piece lol.

Lauren Hi Allison, another Globetrooper has just put up an almost-identical trip, Europe next Summer looking for another female to travel with. Check it out here: http://globetrooper.com/backpacking-through-europe-summer-2012
Lauren
Lauren Hi Bryan, I'm Australian and would definitely recommend Sydney and Melbourne for your visit however they are expensive so perhaps try couchsurfing. I'll be back there in March for a wedding so if you want to meet up for a beer, that'd be great. My dad actually owns a pub, a very typical 'outback' pub near the town of Young (in between Sydney and Canberra), and there are a few jobs around the area for fruit-picking etc at certain times of the year. I haven't been up to the north, but if you like to party, then the Gold Coast would be a good stop too.

Lauren Tasmania is great for a bit more adventure as well, but might be out of your budget. And the Blue Mountains are good for hiking/caving/camping.

Lauren I'm in Berlin now and can fully recommend it. Lots of young people, cool bars and nice outdoor areas. I've also previously been to Madrid, Florence, Rome, Venice, Vienna, London and Paris. It really depends on what you like, each city is good for different things. Are looking to party? Visit the sights, see some architecture or museums? Or meet/chat/become friends with locals? Or all of the above? I think Madrid and London are good for the party scene. Florence, Rome, Venice for the arts. Paris and Vienna are good to enjoy the cafe culture. Have fun!

Lauren Hey Doug, any reason why you're taking your senior trip late? If you make it a bit later you could fit in Oktoberfest (Sept)
Doug_Bowman
Doug_Bowman I wish I could take it later but with school and a family member graduating from college this was really the only time I could fit in a trip
