Finished Uni for the summer, just working and saving up for my next adventure... Looking for people with similar plans!

Vanessa Hi Lauren - I can't make it (wish I could!) - but have travelled through that area (couple of years ago now...'06/'07).
When I was there trains were infrequent and ran only between some major towns - but the bus system was really good (private minivans too) - I don't think you'll get value from a rail pass.
Had trouble finding out how to travel south from Montenegro to Albania as only private buses were running the route (which seem to have random pick-up/drop-off spots) - so I went the other way from Greece - Albania - Montenegro which somehow seemed better organised (i.e I found a way!). Things keep changing there though and if you have time then there's always a way!
Anyway that's my 2 cents worth...

laurenfleur Hey Vanessa, ah Thanks for the advice! Yeah it seems Montenegro to Albania may be a bit tricky, guess just see what happens when I get there! And think you are right about the rail pass, defo go for individual fares! Thanks a lot, Lauren x

Minnie hi lauren ive been doing a bit research... seems train from slovenia croatia bosnia serbia bulgaria ..no problem.. to get to macedonia montenegro albania then back into croatia you need to get the bus..these seem cheap enough and easy .. im still getting my rail pass as im travelling from paris etc..and will be travelling back that way via train too. How long are in in venice and what date are you in slovenia from?? Mxxx

laurenfleur Hey! Oh right thanks, yeah I remember looking into that and it seemed it may be rather tricky! Yeah hopefully the buses will be a good way around it... I'm maybe spending half the day in the Venice, then Um, to be honest my plan isn't to clear at the moment, should probably start organising,... ha but think probably about 4-6 days in each Country, depending on which one is favourable at the time.. Think prob in Slovenia until the 24th...And you, do you have a bit more time?? Have you a sort of route planned? Lxx

Minnie hi there im going ... paris switzerland slovenia croatia capital bosnia serbia bulgaria.... now my next part will depend on whether i have a companian but if i do then the bus... macadonia montenegro albania then up the croatian coast italy - florence paris i dont plan to spend long in each place as i really want to visit as many countries as possible.. its such a shame we are a week out..nevermind x

laurenfleur Hey! Going for about 3 and half weeks, thinking not going to be able to fit all those countries in the time I have!! May have to skip out 1 or 2... but yeah thats all the time can get off work and budget pretty tight too! Have you any trips planned??? Laurenx

Minnie Hi Lauren shame as it seems you will be a week ahead of me... not sure where you are heading to and when... im hoping to be in slovenia around the 1st aug then travelling on... need to get my timetable and finalise dates etc... maybe we could hook up then... i would really like companian for some of the journey as i would like to venture a little further afield ..it depends which countries you want to visit.... Mx

laurenfleur Hello!

I am looking to travel the Balkans, mid July - August for about 3 and half weeks..

Flying to Venice- Slovenia
Slovenia-Croatia
Croatia-Albania

Possibly a bit of Greece and Bosnia if have the time!!!

I just booked a return flight with Ryan air for £60 Venice... total trip if doing it mega budget should be about £500. Going to either purchase a rail-pass or buy individual bus/train fares, which may work out cheaper!?

Basically just finished uni for the summer, and looking for an adventure. If anyone has similar plans, or likes the sound of it. Let me know!

I'm a 22 year old female from south England, so ideally looking for people around my age, who are fun and not afraid to explore!
