Canadian born and Australian raised, consdiered well travelled by some, but not by me! I have so much to see and do that I am itching to leave and not come home for a few years...more on that later. I have been travelling as a volunteer lately and have done things like lead blind trekkers up a mountains and even build houses in 2nd and 3rd world countries.
What is next for me?? RTW is the answer. I have a few short trips planned to keep me happy, then I will be off for who knows how long. Early 2013 is the goal, I have a house build in Argentina (Nov 2011) and in Cambodia (Aug 2012) to do then with any luck, off to Asia to kick off the journey!
Look forward to getting to know fellow travel nuts!

I've been backpacking for 6 months now. You realize that with a group of 5-6 people, it will be quite difficult to find cheap accommodation?
This looks like an amazing project, good luck with your build and hope you find some troopers to help.
I would consider doing it again for sure, but it would depend on time as I am planning on climbing Cho-Oyu with three vision impaired climbers in late 2013. I think this would be good for a bit of real altitude training (rather than on machines) before doing the big one!
You should look into using a good tour guide comapny, the best I know is Nomadic Adventures. They help us take 7 vision impaired climbers to the summit in 2009. In fact, the entire team of 22 made the summit, which is a rare achievement. They have the best guides on the mountain and this will make the difference for you. I would do it again, but I am planning on bigger peaks next! Good luck :)
