Rajeev Super plan but 99% you will get stuck in Visa diplomacy in this region. There is only one train to Pakistan from India ( Samjhauta Express, Delhi - Lahore) . I am not sure about train route in Paskistan on-wards. Similarly I thought of a road trip starting from Calcutta (my home town in India) to Bangkok...via Bangladesh and Burma but Visa diplomacy is huge problem !!

Todd Hi Rajeev, does that train to Pakistan go through Jammu? We were there a couple of months ago. We attended the border ceremony and couldn't help but want to go across to Lahore to see what is was like. What do you think it's like there for indians/foreigners at the moment? We were there before/after the Osama thing; security was tight even in India airports. In Bangalore you couldn't even enter the airport unless you had a flight leaving in the next few hours. I had to stand outside the doors from 9pm until 6am. Loved the border ceremony.

Rajeev Hi Todd, No that doesn't go via Jammu, it goes via a place called Atari(Indo-Pak border). Security is very tight in India and people don't oppose as it good for us. However some time I come across article in news paper that some group of people are travelling across sub-continent. I believe they must have strong relationship with both the government. So where are you now a days? Any plan for India..recently I have shifted to Calcutta from Bangalore. If you ever think of coming to this part of world , do knok me once :)

Dapinder Zaildar Yaa The train passes via attari border and there is a border ceremony everyday and is a great place to visit..and its very difficult now to have visa to pakistan....//u can plan a visit to himalayas n himachal from there..
