Indigo91 Hey there your looking to do some of the same things as me, and I am also a first timer world traveler. I have family in Britain already to go there, and I really want to go to Europe, and other amazing places with beautiful beaches and environments, volunteering, working, and couch surfing! (:
Todd
Todd We're currently doing something similar and will still be on the road during this trip, so it would be great to get in touch when you depart. We're currently in India, maybe heading to China or SE Asia next.

Todd Hey Monica, I remember you had another hitchhiking trip to Western Africa that fell through. This looks even more adventurous! Good luck; I'll post your trip on our Facebook page too.

Todd Hey there, check out almostfearless.com. Christine and Drew had their son on the road and are now travelling with him while blogging about it. We recently met them in Goa, India, and they seem to be having a ball.

Lauren Hey Keith. Great idea and trip. Congrats on becoming location independent! Todd and I (Globetrooper founders) have been travelling this way for the last 10 months. We're in India at the moment for 3 months, but we've been thinking later this year we might head to Thailand and stay for a few months. Maybe we'll be there at the same time?
Keith Mander
Keith Mander Howdy Lauren! I'm super impressed that you've been able to put together this super site on your travels - sounds like you're living my dream! I've just sexed up the description to make it a little more interesting - will be great to see if others are in the same boat. Shall defo let you know if I end up heading in your direction!

Lauren One tip I can give you about researching places to go - check forums for internet speed and connectivity. Especially if you're working on a few websites while you travel, it can be really frustrating if you can't find a decent internet connection.

Todd
Todd Hey Keith. Lauren makes a good point about Internet speed. South America was fine, but India is a bit more tedious since you need to use 3G and almost nowhere has WiFi (except Mumbai). Looking forward to Thailand though; apparently as cheap as Internet, but with decent Internet speeds.

Todd Sounds like an epic trip Annie. We'll be around some of those countries at the same time; so we should keep in touch. Currently in India, but heading to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, etc., from late July. You'll love India if you've never been before.
Todd
Todd Hi Bec, we're doing a similar thing, but in India at the moment. After a stint here and in Mongolia, we're thinking about heading to Berlin, which will be around Jul/Aug, the time you'll be in Europe too. We heard from digital nomads in Montreal and Berlin is a great place to do this sort of thing. apparently it's cheap (for Europe) and has a growing startup scene. Anyway, would love to catch up if you're in the area at the time.
Becfaye
Becfaye Hi Todd, Sounds great! Will definitely keep in touch and hopefully catch up at some stage. How long have you been traveling for? How's India?
Todd
Todd Have been travelling for 9 months now. 3 in Montreal, 3 in Cusco, 1 in Buenos Aires, 1 in India so far and 1 month on the road between places. India is good, but not so well suited to being a digital nomad. Montreal was my favourite. Cusco was cheapest. Argentina has the most medium-term accommodation options. We'll be in India for another 3 months, then maybe to Europe or Thailand.

Todd Hi Sam, have you thought about joining the Great Circular Indian Railway Challenge in Feb 2011? The entire Globetrooper team is going with another 17 or so people. It's a 12,000km circumnavigation of India by rail. We have bloggers, professional travellers, photographers, train fanatics and even beginner travellers. You can see more info here: http://globetrooper.com/the-great-circular-indian-railway-challenge-2011 and a recent blog post about it here http://globetrooper.com/notes/circumnavigation-of-india. Anyway, just thought you may be interested. The more the merrier.

Tripchick Sorry, Scott, but I've only traveled in Israel and that was in 1987. I lived there for 3 monhs. But since you're not a young woman, my warnings would not apply to you in Israel anyway (you're lucky!).
