I am the founder of trailsnet and OnTheMove Tours (OTMTours). I have led numerous domestic and international group tours and love active travel. Long-distance bike trail tours are my specialty, and I look forward to the opportunity of helping you discover some of the greatest scenery and culture in the world; on the seat of a bicycle.

trailsnet You might want to check out the "Biking the Heart of the Rockies" trip to Glenwood Springs that will be taking place during the same time as your trip. It's in Colorado. You could take the Amtrak to Glenwood Springs, then rent a car from there. Even though it is being billed as a biking trip, some of the participants will be hiking instead. There are many good hikes but one fabulous one to Hanging Lake.

trailsnet Have a great trip. The ferry ride from Lahaina to Lanai is an inexpensive option to the whale-watching tours and offers the extra benefit of allowing you to explore Lanai. If you're into trails, take a shuttle to the last hotel on the route and try the Munro Trail.

trailsnet I have decided to save the Katy Trail until fall of 2012 and ride the trails near Glenwood Springs, Colorado in May, 2012 instead of ride the Katy Trail. Check out the Glenwood Springs trip if you get a chance.
