I grew up mostly in New England (the US) and partly in Germany but I spent most of my adult life in Asia. I'm up for living just about anywhere for a year to get to know the people and culture. I prefer clean basic huts on the beach to resotrs, but at the end of a roughing-it kind of trip sometimes a few nights in the right kind of upscale accomodate can strike a nice balance.
