Type Travel Partners Wanted
Name Wild Nepal
WANTED: DARING INDIVIDUALS FOR JOURNEY OF UNKNOWN OUTCOME. NEPAL HIMALAYA. HIGH PASSES. LONG DAYS. BEYOND THE BEYOND. MOST REMOTE AREA OF NEPAL. NOT A COMMERCIAL OPERATION. NOT FOR PROFIT. BE PART OF THE TEAM. TRIP WILL NOT GO WITHOUT AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE, AT MOST 9. CURRENTLY HAVE 2 PEOPLE COMMITTED.
WHO WE ARE: Trip will be led by Himalayan veteran (me) with 13 Nepali stamps in my Passport. Have been on numerous independent treks in Nepal and Tibet, and have designed this trek to reach remote villages and high passes between Nepal and Tibet. Have much experience in remote areas of Nepal, leading Nepali staff, over 3000 days leading wilderness trips in various remote parts of the world. Climbed numerous mountains up to 7900m. Dealt with (and avoided) many wilderness emergencies, including safely acclimatizing and handling high-altitude concerns. Pleasant in a storm (at least I think so), able to get along with everybody, but prefer to get along with nice people.
WHO YOU ARE: Perhaps you have been to Nepal before. Trekked the Annapurnas, or went to Everest Base Camp. Want to take it up a notch. Or you've never been to Nepal, and want the high mountains without the crowds. Tibetan and Buddhist culture without the apple pie and teahouses. A more authentic experience. You aren't afraid of suffering. In good to excellent physical condition. Adventurous. Curious about the world. Willing. Pleasant in a storm. You are also not an asshole. I've done the leg work and research to get away from the tourist masses and see a remote part of the Himalayas. Join us! It will be a true adventure!
WHERE WE'RE GOING: First, fly to Kathmandu. After a day (or more, up to you) fly to Jomsom. Begin walking North into the Kingdom of Mustang. Swing West and after numerous passes and unknown challenges and adventures, hopefully arrive in the village of Jumla 40 days later, and fly to Nepalgunj/Kathmandu. Plan on 5-6 hours walking a day, at least. Plan on plans changing.
WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED IN COST: A couple of nights hotel in Kathmandu. Interior flights in Nepal. All meals while on trek. Kitchen staff. Trekking staff, including porters. National Park Fees. Restricted Area Fees. Tents.
NOT PROVIDED: Personal gear. Booze/soft drinks. I will send you a list of gear to bring, but am assuming a certain level of comfort/experience in remote expedtioning/camping.
