First, a little about me. I'm a 23-year-old girl who graduated from college about a year and a half ago. California born and raised, but currently reside in NYC. Love traveling and meeting new people!

So a friend told me about this really cool website called workaway.info, which is basically like couch surfing for backpackers/volunteers. The idea is that you connect with hosts in different countries and volunteer in their guest houses/schools/farms/etc for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in exchange for room and board. The length of stay varies so I was thinking it would be really cool to plan out a backpacking trip this way, in a way that we could minimize costs and do some volunteering.

Countries are definitely flexible as well as dates. Just wanted to put the feelers out to see if anyone would be interested. I just backpacked Europe a few months ago with a girl I met on here, so I'm pretty serious about doing something like this!

Toryjane Hi I did Europe a couple of years ago now and loved it. I'm dying to do some more travel and am tossing up a wide variety of different options, Africa being one of them. The only thing I'm sure of is that I want to do something this year and since you've also travelled and sound keen to do something this year also, I think we should chat some more. :)
