Name World Voyage, Leg 1: North America

As the beginning of my world voyage undertaking, of which I have dreamt since childhood, I will be heading east from my home in Western Canada in August next year, going through the Prairies to Ontario, Quebec, and into the Maritime Provinces, whereupon I will enter the States through Maine and head South along the Eastern Seaboard, eventually getting into Mexico and traveling on through to South America, which I will hopefully be entering around November. These dates are all very flexible.

This is going to be a budget trip. No flights, travel will consist of walking, bus/train rides, hitch hiking, etc. Food and accommodation to be obtained through services such as CouchSurfing and WWOOF, as well as money accrued through odd jobs and trading along the way. Plan to stop in many major cities as well as many rural sites. I'm going to take my time, really taking in the experience and traveling slowly to keep costs minimal. Looking for like-minded individuals to share paths for at least some of the trip (the more the merrier).

CrystallLynn I am also planning a low budget trip across country, and possibly beyond when my contract for my job ends in July 2012. I live in Ontario & it would be fly if our journeys colided!

Cammy Hey girl, your dates say 2012. Did you mean that or did you mean to say 2011? I need a travel partner and am on a budget as well. Romania, Hungary, Austria, and Switzerland are on my mind but am open. Holla if you are interested. I will be there August-September.

chowitzer Not a girl, but yeap I mean 2012. I have some lingering affairs to take care of and loose ends to tie before I go anywhere for any extended time. If you're still on the road when I eventually am I'm willing to travel with anyone who likes seeing new places as much as I do.
