I am thinking about doing the 3-day Yakushima traverse as suggested by the Lonely Planet Walking in Japan Guide.
Huts are available on the way, but they're unstaffed so you need to carry food and sleeping material by yourself. Makes the trip cheaper, but of course also more exhausting and rewarding
I don't want to do such a trip alone, so in case you want to to the same let me know.
My goal is to go some-when over an (extended) weekend in October.
Cost estimate is without any transport ...
